Some times people ask if / why we need certificates for kitsuke.
My take on certificates for kitsuke is the same as it is for all and any certificate.
One gentleman put it most appropriately so I shall quote.
"Certificates are hurdles we set for ourselves in order to clear a goal. Never think you can make a living just by getting a certificate."
着付けに資格は意味あるかどうか、という質問をする人がよくいます。
私の資格についての考えは、着付けを含む全ての資格においで同じです。
ある人が言った言葉が一番適切だと思います。
「資格というのは、ある目標をクリアするために自分でセットしたハードルみたいなものであり、 それで飯を食おうとは思わないほうがいいのだ。」

These two are suppose to be the same obi style. But as you can see they can turn out very differently depending on the student. No better or worse, just different interpretations.
この二つは同じ帯結びです。結び手によってかなり仕上がりが違うのがわかります。

A new student's first try putting on yukata herself. The bow is very well done.
